Nel romanzo Illusioni, Richard Bach afferma le stesse cose del Segreto, in modo semplice eppure molto diretto, e senza sprecare nemmeno poi tante parole:
“You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. YOU MAY HAVE TO WORK FOR IT, HOWEVER.”
