A spell of heavy rain will extend countrywide Wednesday night, eventually clearing away eastwards early Thursday. Widespread showers will follow, some of which will be heavy, but again some bright or sunny spells will develop during the course of the day. It will remain mild and breezy, with temperatures in the low to mid teens, along with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. Friday will see temperatures rise even more, touching the mid teens across many areas, with moderate southwesterlies prevailing. However there will be scattered widespread showers for a time, with rain and drizzle reaching western fringes later in the day.
